Terms and conditions

  2. Prizes and values are as follows: 1 st prize – $10,000 cash prize. 2 nd prize – Apple MacBook Pro 256 GB with a recommended retail price of $2,299. 3 rd prize – Apple iPhone 7 Plus, 32 GB, with a recommended retail price of $1,269.
  3. All prize values are in Australian dollars.
  4. The winner of the first prize will be presented with a cheque for the value of $10,000 named out to the respective winner. Second and third prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
  5. To be eligible to enter the “Mar Thoma Church Canberra Building Fund raffle”, participants must purchase a minimum of 1 raffle ticket. A total of 999 tickets will be available for purchase.
  6. Raffle ticket sales will commence on 18th December 2016 at 12:00pm AEDT and conclude on 30th June 2017 at 11:59PM AEST.
  7. The draw for the winners will take place on 23rd July 2017 at 12pm AEST, at Canberra Grammar School (Junior School) John Lingard Hall, Alexander Street, Red Hill ACT – 2603. If the winners are under the age of 18 years, the prizes will be awarded to their parents or legal guardians.
  8. All winners will be notified by phone, text or e-mail within 2 days of the winners being drawn, and the winner’s details will be published on the Mar Thoma Church Canberra website on 25th July 2017. A list of all prizes and winners will be displayed at http://www.canberramarthoma.org/fundraiser. Results of the draw will also be published in the Canberra Times on 26th July 2017.
  9. If the winners are not present during the time of the draw, it is the winner’s responsibility to collect the prizes within 3 months from the date of the draw. The winners can do so by contacting the Mar Thoma Church Canberra Fundraising committee (‘Committee’) at 0421 993 870 or by emailing fundraiser@canberramarthoma.org
  10. In the draw for the winners, the prizes will be drawn in descending order of the prize value.
  11. The Committee reserves the right to request winners to submit their tickets as proof of purchase and identification. Proof of identification and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Committee.
  12. The full details of the Promoter is Mar Thoma Church Canberra Incorporated. (ABN 92 691 121 582).
  13. The Promoter will not be responsible or be liable for any promotions and / or services that are provided by the sponsors.
  14. The warranty for the second and third prizes will start from the date of purchase which is at the discretion of the Committee. All matters in relation to warranty of the products should be directed to the retailer only under all circumstances. The Promoter is in no way responsible for any technical faults that occur in relation to the products and as such, all matters should be directed to the retailer only.
  15. Tickets must be paid in full at the time of the purchase.
  16. Images shown on the ticket are for illustration purposes only and may not necessarily depict the exact prize.
  17. Entrants must complete or receive assistance from a Church Building Fund raffle ticket representative in completing their contact details in the section provided.
  18. Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be ineligible. Complete entries will include a first and last name, a telephone number, and an email address at a minimum.
  19. Entrants are not restricted or limited to the number of raffle tickets which may be purchased.
  20. Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to the acceptance of the prize.
  21. If any prizes remain unclaimed for 3 months, there will be a redraw of the unclaimed prizes at a date and time to be decided by the Committee.
  22. If for any reason the raffle is not capable of running as planned, including (but not limited to) tampering or any other causes beyond the control of the Committee, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of the raffle, the Committee reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the raffle, subject to any direction given under ACT Gambling and Racing Commission.
  23. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it’s determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission
